Nascar – Hamlin wins the Daytona 500

Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs Racing) seemed untouchable in the final part of the race, but the driver of the No. 20 Camry almost lost control of his car in the final corner while trying to block the path of his teammate and he did not only takes 14th place.

Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs) completes the top three ahead of Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing) and Carl Edwards who allowed Joe Gibbs Racing to place three of its four cars in the top five. Joey Logano (Team Penske) took sixth place.

Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) placed 16th after receiving a drive-through following an error made by his team during a pit stop. Chase Elliott (Hendrick Motorsports), Jeff Gordon's replacement, saw his hopes dashed at the start of the race when he made a mistake.
