Nascar – Hamlin comes a long way at Darlington

Denny Hamlin scored his second victory in Darlington (South Carolina) after his success in Loudon (Tennessee). The Joe Gibbs Racing driver, winner for the second time of the Southern 500 after 2010, managed to win despite an error pushing him back 20s from leader Martin Truex Jr (Furniture Row Racing) after missing the entry into the pits with 54 laps to go.

Denny Hamlin finally won with more than 2 seconds ahead of his teammate Kyle Busch. Kurt Busch (Stewart-Haas Racing) completed the podium ahead of Austin Dillon (Richard Childress Racing) and Erik Jones (Furniture Row Motorsports).

Clint Bowyer (Stewart-Haas Racing) retired on the 18th lap due to an engine failure. Tony Stewart's replacement will be condemned to victory this weekend in Richmond (Virginia) to compete in the playoffs. Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports) is also destined for success in his hope of competing for the title in his final season in Nascar Cup Series
