Nascar – Harvick champion in style in Miami

Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing) wins the Sprint Cup title after winning his first victory on the Miami-Homestead oval (Florida), a week after his success in Phoenix (Arizona). The driver of the No. 4 Chevrolet opted for the right strategy by taking four tires during his last stop and found himself in the best position during the final restart against Ryan Newman (Richard Childress Racing) and Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing).

The winner of the previous edition in Miami was trapped by the last yellow flag while running on worn tires and ultimately only finished seventh. Newman, who finished the season without any victory, remained threatening against the new champion but his strategy based on two new tires did not allow him to keep up with Harvick's pace. Joey Loagno (Team Penske) also fought at the front but a jack problem during a pit stop relegated him to the back of the pack and the #22 Ford only finished in 16th position.
