Held last night in Texas, the Duck Commander 500 race smiled on Hendrick Motorsports and Jimmie Johnson. The six-time champion NASCAR took control of the event on the 321st lap before beating the defending champion Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing), second despite a scare at turn 4 on the 331st lap. Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports) finished 3rd ahead of the two Team Penske Fords of Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano.
In the clan Toyota, Carl Edwards (Joe Gibbs) was once again the most energetic in Texas, completing the top 10 ahead of his teammate Denny Hamlin. Harvick maintains the championship lead ahead of Logano and Martin Truex Jr (Furniture Row).
