Nascar – Kasey Kahne will join Leavine Family Racing

Kasey Kahne will continue her career in Nascar Cup Series by joining Leavine Family Racing in 2018. The current resident of Hendrick Motorsport will leave the team after six seasons, being replaced by Xfinity Series leader William Byron next year. The 37-year-old American will be playing in his fifth team at the highest level of the discipline.

“It looks like they’ve made a lot of progress in the last couple of years. It’s quite nice to see what a small team can do in the discipline. This opportunity will be both a new challenge and something fun. Our goal is to improve every weekend and I think we will be able to do that”, said Kasey Kahne on Nascar.com.

Kasey Kahne is currently 15th in the Championship and is qualified for the first phase of the playoffs following his success in Indianapolis. The driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet has 18 victories in the Nascar Cup Series but has failed to finish in Victory Lane the last two seasons.

Leavine Family Racing only has one top five this year with the No. 95 Chevrolet of Michael McDowell running in 25th position in the Championship.

“Michael is a personal friend and I like him very much, commented Bob Leavine, the owner of the stable of the same name. He spoke to the team saying how much he appreciated the support and being part of this family. He is a first class driver and he will always be part of this team. »

Leavine Family Racing will continue to work with Richard Childress Racing in 2018.
