Since June 2014 and a success for Carl Edwards in Sonoma, California, the training Roush Fenway Racing was champing at the bit waiting for another victory in the premier category of Nascar Series.
Jack Roush was finally able to taste the flavors of Victory Lane yesterday at Talladega in Alabama, thanks to Ricky Stenhouse Jr..
Jamie McMurray (Chip Ganassi Racing – Chevrolet) finished second ahead of Kyle Busch, Aric Almirola (Richard Petty Motorsports – Ford) and Kasey Kahne (Hendrick Motorsports – Chevrolet).
The traditional Big One
No super-speedway race without its Big One and the tradition was unfortunately still respected yesterday at Talladega. On lap 168, AJ Allmendinger (JTG Daugherty – Chevrolet) lightly pushed Chase Elliott (Hendrick Motorsports – Chevrolet) and initiated a collective collision.
In particular, Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing – Ford), Brad Keselowski (Team Penske – Ford), Martin Truex Jr. (Furniture Row – Toyota), Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs Racing – Toyota), Trevor Bayne (Roush Fenway Racing – Ford), Danica Patrick (Stewart- Haas Racing – Ford) or Erik Jones (Joe Gibbs Racing – Toyota).
Allmendinger ended his race on the roof, while Elliott avoided a rollover after being hit by the Ford of Joey Logano (Team Penske). More than 25′ will be necessary to evacuate the various cars involved.
