Nascar – Truex Jr unbeatable at Fontana

Martin Truex Jr (Toyota) s’est montré intouchable à l’Auto Club 400 disputée sur l’ovale de deux miles de Fontana (Californie). Le champion en titre de la Nascar Cup Series, which had already secured pole, won maximum points for the playoffs since it won the first two segments before winning with more than six seconds ahead of its closest opponent, Kyle Larson (Chevrolet).

The Chip Ganassi Racing resident had a particularly competitive Camaro ZL1, but his start to the race was not without problems. The driver of the No. 42 clashed with Kevin Harvick (Ford), the Championship leader who was aiming for a fourth consecutive victory this weekend.

Kyle Busch (Toyota) completed the top three ahead of Team Penske drivers Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano. Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick) took the points for ninth place, recording his first Top 10 in ten races.

If Martin Truex had never won in Fontana, he had already achieved the hat trick last year by winning all three segments during the events in Charlotte (North Carolina) and Las Vegas (Nevada).
