Last manufacturer to unveil its car for the 2013 Sprint Cup, Toyota has just presented its new Camry at the Toyota Racing Development headquarters in Salisbury (North Carolina). The Japanese giant therefore confirms that it will use its most popular model for its 7th year of presence in the division's elite Nascar. In accordance with the wishes of the American organizers, the racing model is very similar to that which can be encountered on the roads.
« Nascar fans will appreciate that our new competition car looks just like the one in their garage, rejoiced Ed Laukes, vice president of communications and competition at Toyota Motorsport. The 2013 Camry looks more like a production car than ever, and we hope this helps rekindle the long-standing connections between fans and manufacturers. We've never had a racing Camry that's so identical to its road version ". Last year, Nascar allowed manufacturers to redesign the cars racing in Nationwide to make them more like production cars. It's now the turn of the Sprint Cup category.
Last week, Chevrolet announced that it would introduce the SS model in 2013 in place of the Impala, while Ford will field a “revisited” Fusion and Dodge a Charger with a more aggressive look.
