For the first time in the history of the Blancpain GT Series, initiated in 2011 with the championship Endurance, Stéphane Ortelli did not start a race last weekend at Monza, after the end of the Emil Frey Racing program with Lexus.
The Monegasque will, however, return to the SRO pelotons on the weekend of May 4, for the opening of the World Challenge Europe at Brands Hatch in England. The winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans 1998 with Porsche retrouvera en outre l’écurie Saintéloc Racing, for whom he drove in the Endurance Cup in 2014.
Ortelli will drive the third Audi R8 LMS GT3 of the Saint-Etienne team, alongside Nyls Stievenart, for the five events of the season. Saintéloc also lines up the tandems Christopher Haase – Simon Gachet and Markus Winkelhock – Steven Palette.
