TCR – Hugo Valente leaves motorsport

Hugo Valente made his name in the WTCC championship in which he participated for the first time in 2012 but began his first full season in 2014 with Campos Racing. He was on the podium six times at the end of his career.

He started the championship International TCR in 2017 with Lukoil Craft-Bamboo Racing on Seat and despite two podiums in Bahrain, he preferred to withdraw from competition.

“The results were not those expected, he explains, so I decided to take a step back from sport. I now have to take care of my own family.

“I have a nine-month-old little girl and nothing makes me happier than being with her. I want to give him the same life that I received from my parents and I know that will be impossible if I remain a racing driver. »

The Frenchman will be replaced by Daniel Lloyd, from the British Touring Car Championship.

« The TCR International Series is a championship that I have wanted to join for a while, comments the English pilot. It's really ideal to join Craft-Bamboo Racing since I already worked with them in 2015 (in GT Asia Series). »
