TCR – Hyundai sells its first i30 N to two teams

The seat of Hyundai Motorsport in Alzenau (Germany) last week welcomed the first customers of the i30 N model, eligible in all TCR races including the future WTCR World Cup in 2018.

The first buyer is the BRC Racing, a choice that seemed obvious and for good reason; this Italian team had been charged less than a year ago development tests of the car on various European circuits. The experienced Alain Menu and Gabriele Tarquini (WTCC champion in 2009), requisitioned for the birth of the i30 N, even achieved several best laps during the last two rounds of the TCR International Series in Zhejiang (China) and Dubai with a victory this fall. The BRC will participate in the TCR at national and international level as a private team.

The second customer is located in Asia: the KMSA, recognized as one of the most successful training courses in South Korea. Thus, the Hyundai should probably be represented in TCR Asia and Korea next season. Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing manager Andrea Adamo sees these sales as “an important step”. “This marks the end of a long period of development. We have managed to develop a high-performance package within the framework of the TCR regulations (price set at 128 euros). The delivery of our first chassis is just the start of our work, not only to build cars for customers, but also to support the teams ahead of 2018.”

Deliveries will continue throughout the winter to prepare for the 2018 season. When purchasing four cars, Hyundai applies a reduction of 28 euros. An endurance kit is finally available, including ABS, an additional headlight strip as well as a fuel refueling system.
