Despite the change of BOP penalizing the Lynk & CO 03 TCR, Thed Björk managed to maintain his pole advantage by winning with a lead of 7 tenths over his teammate Yvan Muller. The Chinese manufacturer thus obtained its second victory of the season after the success achieved in Marrakech (Morocco).
“I was afraid for my tires because this track is very abrasive, but Yvan was held back by competitors behind and that allowed me to maintain the advantage”, declared the Swedish winner.
Mikel Azcona (Cupra) completed the podium after taking the lead at the start over Andy Priaulx (Lynk & Co). The Briton finally failed in 5th place after also giving in to Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen) at the end of the race. The two-time World RX champion achieved his best WTCR result by finishing just off the podium.
After having had to move back on the grid, Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk & Co) a terminé au 7e rang entre Mehdi Bennani (Volkswagen) et Benjamin Leuchter (Volkswagen). Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi) a terminé au pied du Top 10 derrière Frédéric Vervisch (Audi) et Nicky Catsburg (Hyundai).
