Norbert Michelisz on pole for Race 1 in Hungary

He started the day in FP1 in the best possible way, and Norbert Michelisz did not tremble at the decisive moment of the first qualifying sessions of the WTCR weekend in Hungary. The driver of the Korean car operated by the BRC Racing Team structure took pole position for race 1 of the weekend in front of his home crowd.

Author of a benchmark in 1'52″644, the Hungarian is ahead of the Honda Civic TCR – Münnich Motorsport of Argentinian Esteban Guerrieri by 0″256.

Yann Ehrlacher (Münnich Motorsport) and Yvan Muller (Yvan Muller Racing) will therefore be reunited on the third row for a start to watch between nephew and uncle. Only Rob Huff (Volkswagen Golf – Sébastien Loeb Racing) places a car other than a Hyundai or a Honda in the top 10 of the session.

Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi RS3 – Team WRT) is the best representative of the brand on the rings in 11th position. Nathanaël Berthon (Audi RS3 – Comtoyou Racing) ranks 13th. John Filippi (Cupra TCR – Campos Racing) took 16th place while Aurélien Comte did not repeat the performances seen in free practice by taking 19th place with his Peugeot 308 TCR – DG Sport Competition.

Aurélien Panis (Comtoyou Racing) finished 23rd. Race 1 is scheduled to start at 15:25 p.m.
