The contingent of Belgian teams is strengthened even further for the first edition of the WTCR in 2018, replacing the WTCC via the adoption of the technical rules initiated by Marcello Lotti.

After DG Sport which expressed its desire to engage with a Peugeot 308, but also Comtoyou Racing with the Audi RS3 LMS for Aurélien Panis and Denis Dupont, it is the turn of Boutsen Ginion Racing to confirm his presence this year.

Already present in TCR Benelux (titles for Stéphane Lémeret and Benjamin Lessennes in 2016 and 2017) and TCR International Series with the Honda Civic, the structure based in Wavre will always trust Japanese cars, with two examples in action for a duo of remaining drivers to define.

“It’s a new and great challenge that lies ahead for my team, comments Team Manager Olivier Lainé. I am delighted to start a new adventure in WTCR. After two successful years, it made sense for us to continue with Honda. I can't wait to start the first tests with the new Civic. »

The championship is scheduled to begin on April 7 and 8 in Marrakech, Morocco.
