WTCR – John Filippi reunites with Campos Racing with Cupra

A few days after formalizing the launch of the brand Cupra, which will manage the competition activities of Seat, the Spanish team racing fields confirmed its presence in the new WTCR, with a car entrusted to the Frenchman John Filippi.

Engaged with Sébastien Loeb Racing in 2017 on a Citroën C-Elysée, the Corsican will find a structure with which he had competed for three seasons between 2014 and 2016, first on a Seat Leon, then on a Chevrolet Cruze.

John Filippi will therefore avoid the time of adaptation to a new environment. “Campos Racing contacted me at the end of the 2017 season, explains the 23-year-old pilot. They were able to put together a coherent and promising project for the future.

I can't wait to get in the car for the first tests. Participating in this 2018 championship is probably one of the biggest challenges of my career, it is the logical continuation of my journey. »

Filippi had twelve top 10 finishes last year in the WTCC, with fourth place as his best result in the opening races in China and Qatar.
