WTCR – Pepe Oriola remains loyal to Cupra

The Campos Racing team is now well stocked in the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR). After the signature of the Frenchman John Filippi Thursday, the Spanish team confirmed the arrival of Pepe Oriola in its structure in 2018.

The 23-year-old Catalan will drive a Cupra TCR, in reality a Seat Leon rebadged with the name of the new sports brand from the Iberian manufacturer. “It promises to be a complicated year due to the adversity present, but it will be rewarding,” explains Pepe Oriola. Cupra (ex-Seat Sport) has always been at my side, this manufacturer has placed its trust in me since my beginnings in touring, so I will try to return the favor on the circuits”, He explains.

Pepe Oriola is far from being unknown in the Cupra house. Host of the Seat Leon Eurocup and Supercopa Spain championships in 2010 (4th of the two series), the teenager had become in 2013 the youngest event winner in WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) aboard a Seat Leon in Marrakech (Morocco). He was only 18 and a half years old. Over the last three years, he has distinguished himself in the TCR International Series, always with a Seat Leon (vice-champion in 2015, 4th in 2016 and 2017).
