After securing pole position in Spain, Gilles Magnus confirms on Race 1. Starting in 1st position on the Motorland Aragon circuit, the Belgian managed to manage his lead to open his account this season. While we expected Nathanaël Berthon or Yann Ehrlacher at the front, it was ultimately Robert Huff who came to cast doubt on the Audi driver. From the first laps, the Englishman overtook the two Frenchmen who started in 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

The French Lynk&Co pilot was in difficulty in Spain. Yann Ehrlacher's hopes of a podium quickly disappeared. The Habs finally finished 6th ahead of their teammate Yvan Muller. Nathanaël Berthon managed to resist the return of the two Hyundai of Mikel Azcona and Norbert Michelisz to validate his 3rd position.

Behind, the battle in the middle of the pack took its toll. Tom Coronel, who started from the back of the grid after his engine change, did not see the finish of Race 1. Attila Tassi and Dáyvan niel Nagy were also forced to retire in Spain. With this victory, Gilles Magnus comes back on Mikel Azcona in the general classification before race 2 at 15:15 p.m.
