Sochi – Qualifying: Yvan Muller takes pole position

The final round of the WTCR season takes place this weekend on the Sochi Olympic Park circuit. In a good position to be crowned with a 36-point lead before this final, Yann Ehrlacher (Cyan Racing Lynk & Co) set the fifth fastest time in qualifying in 2:31.887 while the rain came onto the track. His rival for the title, Frédéric Vervish (Comtoyou Team Audi Sport) was eliminated in Q2 with the ninth fastest time. Ten years after his third WTCC world crown acquired in Macau, Yvan Muller took pole position in 2:29.634. He beat Mikel Azcona by 0,348 and Nestor Girolami by 0,445. The Frenchman is the first driver to take a second pole position this season.
