Ultimate Cup Series Magny-Cours, round 2 – Sunday summary

Maxime Mainguy made a good comeback and took second place, while Simon Escalier took third place again.

There were two races remaining in the Legend Cars category to complete the weekend: race 2 was won by Mathieu Detry (n°44). He is followed by Thibaut Chiron (n°48) and Maxime Lieutenant (n°60), the winner of race 1. Race 3 is won by David de Saeger (n°44), closely followed by Maxime Lieutenant and Maxime Sonntag (No. 27). Maxime Lieutenant carried out the great operation of the weekend, winning race 1 and finishing twice on the podium in races 2 and 3.

In category car, Konstantin Lachenauer is jubilant: by winning in race 3, the Swiss driver wins a ninth victory in a row for his first participation in the championship. He is ahead of Pierre-Albert Fusella and Adrien Chila, and is more than ever the favorite for victory in the championship this season.

The Challenge GT crews Endurance gave their all to the last race of the weekend: crew no. 1 (Visiom – Pagny/Perrier/bouvet) finished first in the race after 132 frenzied laps. With four laps behind, crew no. 45 of the AB Sport Auto team (Thybaud/Crapiz/Cayrolle) finished second in the race, while crew no. 666 (ABM – Petelet/Louard/Escallier) finished the nine-lap race of winners. Note the great performance of our editor-in-chief Romain Bernard and his crew n°134 (Vortex – Fontaine/Bernard/Gaillard) who took 8th place in the race. See you from November 12 to 15 at the Navarre circuit, in Spain, for the fourth round of the 2020 championship!
