A GT World Challenge focused on “customer competition” launched by SRO Motorsports

In parallel with the Intercontinental GT Challenge, reserved for brands, SRO Motorsports wanted to reward the Customer Racing programs of the different brands involved in its GT3 championships.

Brands will thus be able to score points via their customer teams and all drivers classified from Platinum to Bronze in the three Blancpain GT Series, Blancpain GT Series Asia and Pirelli World Challenge championships. What to offer a reward GT World Challenge for the best Customer Racing program.

“We offer a title (the Intercontinental GT Challenge) for the direct support of the brands, because we know perfectly well that the teams competing in the Intercontinental GT Challenge are largely supported by the manufacturers, or even are official teams, underlines Stéphane Ratel, boss of SRO Motorsports.

But this is not the essence of GT3, which is that of customer programs. We therefore proposed that the brands score points among these three championships, not only with their best drivers, but with a selection of Pros and other drivers to offer a global challenge for “Customer Racing”. »

More information will be given on the sidelines of the Blancpain GT Series season finale in Barcelona.
