A royal line-up at Audi at the Nürburgring

Audi has decided to go all out for the 24 hours of the Nürburgring this year. The brand unveiled on Tuesday the list of drivers entered for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, scheduled for September 26 and 27. The three crews are made up of an explosive mix of GT and DTM.

The Audi Sport Team Car Collection will field Mirko Bortolotti, winner of the first round of the GT World Challenge Europe endurance in Imola and reference driver in GT. He will be accompanied by Robin Frijns, three-time DTM pole-sitter this season and third in the championship.

Lifelong friends Christopher Haase and Markus Winkelhock, twice winners together at the Nürburgring, will also be there.

Audi Sport Team Land will not be left out. The Italian Mattia Drudi, one of the revelations of the start of the season in GT World Challenge with Attempto Racing, will team up with Kelvin van Der Linde, winner of the 3h of Imola with WRT this year and winner at the Nürburgring in 2017.

His WRT teammate Christopher Mies, twice winner in Germany, will be the third man. The crew is completed by double DTM champion René Rast, winner at the Nürburgring in 2014.

His opponent in DTM, Nico Müller, already three victories on the clock this season, will be lined up in the Team Phoenix car. He will complete the winning crew of the 24 2019 Hours of Nürburgring, Frank Stippler, Dries Vanthoor and Frédéric Vervisch.

The three teams will have an almost official status like last year, because they will receive strong support from the factory. “We managed to shape an era at the Nürburgring in just over a decade” comments Chris Heinke, boss of Audi Sport customer racing. “ In our twelfth start, we now want to fight for our sixth overall victory. » Private Audis should be added to the brand's contingent at the Nürburgring.
