V8SC – Jamie Whincup concludes in Tasmania

Craig Lowndes had the opportunity this Sunday to score a 100th success. Winner yesterday twice, the driver of the Holden Commodore Red Bull Racing Australia was in a strong position to make it three in Tasmania by taking pole position for the final race. But a penalty for contact with David Reynolds at the very start of the race ruined his hopes.

His teammate Jamie Whincup then took over, and concluded this weekend with a victory giving him the lead in the championship at the same time. Chaz Mostert (Ford – Pespi Max Crew PRA) finished 2nd ahead of the Holden Commodore of Shane van Gisbergen (Tekno Autosports). Garth Tander (Holden Racing Team) and Mark Winterbottom (Ford? Pepsi Max Crew PRA) complete the top 5.

The next round in V8 Supercars will take place in Perth, Australia from May 1st to 3rd.
