In its garden at the Nürburgring (Germany, the factory being based on the other side of the track near the Döttinger Höhe straight), Manthey-Racing sounded the charge during the second qualifying session of the 24 Hours, Friday 21 June. Laurens Vanthoor (Porsche) was the fastest, covering the 25 terminals of the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix route in 8'17''449.
That didn't sit well with @VanthoorLaurens, who sets a new best (8:17.449) for @manthey_racing's #911 at the end of Qualifying 2! #24hNBR pic.twitter.com/ur9KO4oryh

The Belgian achieved this performance in the very last minutes of the session. For most of the session, it was a surprise car, the Konrad Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO, which held the best mark, thanks to Marco Mapelli. The Italian finished second (+1”003).
Laurens' little brother, Dries Vanthoor (Audi) set the third time. Particularly comfortable during night testing on Thursday, Mercedes are relegated to fourth, sixth and seventh in the top 10. The best Frenchman classified is Mathieu Jaminet in the Frikadelli Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, fifth, 1”6 behind Laurens Vanthoor.
Arrivals as favorites after a double in the Qualifying Race, the BMW M6 GT3 were discreet and did not appear at the top of the table. The Top 30 will begin at around 19 p.m. this Friday. Each competitor will have one lap to record a time.
