Volvo in WTCC at Brands Hatch

The Volvo Olsbergs Green Racing team will therefore enter two C30s for the Brands Hatch meeting in eight days. Both cars will be driven by Robert Dahlgren and Tommy Rustad. Volvo had already appeared twice in the WTCC: Anderstop had seen the Volvo S60 in 2007 while the C30 had presented itself at Brands Hatch in 2008. For this third appearance in the WTCC, Volvo will see its car weighed down with the maximum handicap ( 40 kg).

The two drivers chosen to join the British WTCC meeting compete in the Swedish National Touring Car Championship (STCC). Tommy Rustad, 40, champion of this discipline in 2000, currently occupies second place in the STCC standings, with one victory in eight races at the wheel of the Polestar team's Volvo C30. Robert Dahlgren, 29, also with Polestar, occupies sixth place in this ranking, two victories. Dahlgren offered Volvo's best WTCC result in 2007, with an eighth place at Anderstop. However, C30s are only eligible to score points at Brands Hatch.
