Winton – Waters confirms, Van Gisbergen ensures

The casting for this weekend's top two spots at Winton Motor Raceway is identical to yesterday's. Shane van Gisbergen (Triple Eight) and Cameron Waters (Tickford Racing) shared the successes of this 5th meeting of the season. Winner the day before, Waters had to lower his flag to the championship leader who won the 14th round of 2022. Once again, the driver of the Ford Mustang got off to the best start and held off SvG. Driver Tickford maintained control of the race until the pit stops. It was an impressive exit lap from the 2021 champion which allowed him to impose his Holden Commodore at the cost of a spectacular overtake. This round ends with Van Gisbergen ahead of Waters. They are accompanied on the podium by David Reynolds at the wheel of the Mustang of Whole grained Racing.

Waters showed his teeth this weekend as he managed to once again dominate the Triple Eight Engineering driver. The podium for this last race is completed by Andre Heimgartner. Two victories to one for Waters' Mustang, the Pickford driver climbs one place overall. He is now third behind Anton de Pasquale and the flamboyant Shane Van Gisbergen.
