WTCC – Second pole position in a row for Tarquini and Honda

He's doing it again. Just like three weeks ago in Marrakech, Morocco, Gabriele Tarquini will start from pole position for the first race on Sunday at the Slovakia Ring in Slovakia. The 2009 WTCC world champion beat his Portuguese teammate Tiago Monteiro and Norbert Michelisz. Their three performances allow Honda to monopolize the first three places on the starting grid on one of the longest circuits of the season.

Behind this trio stand Yvan Muller and Tom Chilton. The three-time French world champion posted the best performance of the Chevrolet Cruze 1,6T, just ahead of his young British teammate. The men have definitely not been without a sole since the start of the season.

Note that qualifying was delayed by more than 25 minutes after Daryl O'Young's terrible crash. The Hong Kong driver lost control of his BMW 320 TC before violently hitting the edge of the track. Fortunately, he escaped unscathed.
