WTCC - Honda aims for victory in 2013

While Honda has just carried out its first tests with the Civic WTCC on the Vallelunga circuit in Italy, Alessandro Mariani, team principal of JAS Motorsport, the team which operates the two Japanese cars, wants to see Gabriele Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro on the highest walked on the podium in 2013.

Announced at the start of the year, Honda's return to an FIA world championship is imminent. After a first test session carried out in Italy, the Honda Racing Team JAS will analyze the data collected before heading to Slovakia on August 27 and 28 for two new days of work on the track. Tiago Monteiro will then participate in the last three races of the season (Japan, China and Macau) in order to see the progress to be made compared to the competition.

« We have two good drivers and I know we have built a good car and that Honda supplies good engines, Explain Mariani. We have all the ingredients, we just need to be patient and take our time to make it all work. We have decided to be at Suzuka, Shanghai and Macau and even if Honda does not put any pressure on us, we want to achieve good results. But our goal is to win in 2013! »
