WTCC – Lopez at the back of the grid in race 1

An important change will be made to the starting grid for the opening race of the Argentine WTCC event at Termas de Rio Hondo. Following an engine change carried out during the night on his Citroën C-Elysée, Jose Maria Lopez will finally start in the last line of this first round of the day.

The Alibiceleste pilot indicated on his Twitter account that the procedure was carried out for safety. This penalty will only affect the double world champion for the first race, thus leaving him with the benefit of his pole position for the main race, won yesterday after qualifying.
