WTCC – Ma Qing Hua returns to Macau

Ma Qing Hua will return to the WTCC by entering his national event in Macau on the weekend of November 19. The former official Citroën Racing driver will take the wheel of a C-Elysée registered by Sébastien Loeb Racing, a mount that he has driven more since the 2015 season.

“I won on the urban circuit of Vila Real (Portugal) in 2015, recalls the double winner in the discipline. Macau is a legendary place. It will take me a little time to get back into the rhythm, but I should be fine. I have good memories of these cars and I still have the same feelings. »

Sébastien Loeb Racing will continue to field Mehdi Bennani, Tom Chilton and John Filippi. Ma Qing Hua has remained in competition for the past two seasons, notably competing in several Formula e with Team Aguri and Techeetah. He will remain as the first Chinese to have won in an FIA World Motorsport Championship.

“I followed the WTCC races on TV this year. The competition is very close with the Volvos and Hondas who have progressed, adds Ma Qing Hua. We saw this year that Citroën can still be ahead and I believe in this team. I have worked with them before and I know they are very experienced and they make me confident. It goes without saying that I would like to be able to compete in the entire Championship again. »
