Alejandro Agag: “The chances of riding are 50%”

The competitions remain on hold with the health measures taken to combat the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, the organizers of the championships are considering the prospects of a resumption despite a difficult context.

The Director of Formula E Alejandro Agag is closely following the evolution of the pandemic by considering concluding the season with a few events.

“We try to compete in races behind closed doors, he admitted in an interview with Zoom. I think our chances of rolling are 50% (as in F1). We will try to compete in two or three events. It should be possible from August. I think 90% of it will be done in Europe. We still have one option outside of Europe, but we will make our choice later. »

Alejandro Agag stressed that his paddock could be limited to less than 1000 people, placing the event under the limit of groupings authorized by governments.

“I don't know if the borders will be reopened and for what period the quarantine will be maintained in different countries. I'll try to do what F1 is trying to do, but I'm not sure it's feasible.", specified Alejandro Agag who also mentioned a trip to Great Britain, citing the circuits of Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Donington Park.

Formula E competed in five races in the 2019-2020 season and has not raced since the Marrakech ePrix (Morocco) on February 29.
