Mitch Evans wins Monaco E-Prix after perfect team race

The first part of the test was similar to what we saw in Misano with extreme energy saving. However, if the permanent Italian track allowed drivers to ride several abreast, the narrow streets of Monaco caused poor contact and damage!

Nyck de Vries from the start, Norman Nato, Sébastien Buemi, Antonio Félix Da Costa, Jake Dennis, some of the names involved in contact in the opening moments of the race, with several front wings changing in the pits.

The safety car took to the track for the first time at 5^e lap for Edoardo Mortara's accident at the swimming pool chicane. The Swiss escaped unscathed, but a great result went up in smoke for him. Jake Hughes lost big when the Safety Car was announced, losing his front wing when he hit a car in front of him.

Jaguar's perfect strategy

Once the race restarted, the two Jaguars of Evans and Cassidy played the team race perfectly, Cassidy letting his teammate go in front, holding back the peloton. Evans was thus able to seize one last attack mode, and stay in the lead of the race. The drivers reversed their positions in the following laps, in order to allow Cassidy to take the advantage, a new attack mode... and thus restore the previous order, with the #9 car in front of the #37!

A final neutralization, for the accident of Nico Müller (hit by Jake Hughes, penalized by five seconds) did not hinder the progress of the Jaguar team cars which signed the double, ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne. The Belgian, who started second, resisted the attacks of his teammate Jean-Éric Vergne, fourth, until the end.

Fifth in the event, Pascal Wehrlein takes sole control of the world championship, after the poor performance of Jake Dennis, twentieth at the finish after a change of front wing.
