António Félix da Costa on pole for the first Berlin race

D.S. Techeetah and the championship leader António Felix da Costa did not fail to hit hard in the first qualifying session of the final rounds of the Formula E in Berlin.

The Portuguese dominated the decisive part during the Super Pole by signing a best lap of the track designed at Tempelhof airport in 1’06”799, the only time under 1’07” per lap and thus pocketed the bonus points for pole.

António Félix da Costa precedes his teammate Jean-Eric Vergne by 0″322, for a 100% DS Techeetah front row. André Lotterer (Porsche) climbs into third position ahead Sébastien Buemi (Nissan e.dams). The top 6 is completed by Nyck de Vries (Mercedes) and Jérôme d’Ambrosio (Mahindra Racing).

Mitch Evans (Jaguar Racing), second in the championship, will only start ninth on the grid, while the BMW i Andretti of Alex Sims and Maximilian Günther, in good spirits at the start of the year, will only start 14th and 17th.

Sergio Sette Camara, arrived in the ranks of Dragon Racing to replace Brendon Hartley, experienced an eventful session, with contact with the wall, only finished 23rd ahead of James Calado (Jaguar Racing), who would have in any case been forced to start at the back of the grid after a replacement of MGU, inverter and battery, resulting in a heavy penalty.

The race will take place this evening at 19 p.m.
