Antonio Fuoco wins in C2 in Monaco

Antonio Fuoco (Charouz) emerged victorious in a second race of F2 very lively in the streets of the Principality of Monaco, and succeeds Artem Markelov (Russian Time), winner yesterday in the main race.

At the beginning, Nyck de Vries (Prema Racing) stalled on the grid, while contact between Tadasuke Makino (Russian Time) and Luca Ghiotto (Campos Racing) occurred, all of these incidents causing the implementation of the virtual safety car.

Starting from pole with the reverse grid, Antonio Fuoco (Charouz) remains in the lead at the green flag in front Lando Norris (Carlin) author of an excellent start against Jack Aitken (ART Grand Prix). The latter will lose several positions in the process due to a mechanical problem before giving up.

On the fourth lap however, Sean Gelael (Prema Racing) climbed the inside curb at the Piscine and destroyed his car in the outside rail, causing the safety car to come into action. The Indonesian pilot did well considering the severity of the shock.

The peloton is released at the end of the 9th lap and Antonio Fuoco will contain Lando Norris during the rest of the event, punctuated by several incidents. George Russell (ART Grand Prix) first comes out after the pool, beforeAlexander albon (DAMS) and Roy Nissany (Campos Racing) make contact after the tunnel.

This last incident leads to a new entry of the safety car, which frees the competitors two laps from the goal before a final neutralization occurs, involving at Rascasse level Nirei Fukuzumi (Arden) and Santino Ferrucci (Trident)

Fuoco finally crossed the line as winner ahead of Lando Norris and Louis Delétraz who scored his first podium in F2. Artem Markelov (Russian Time) finished just off the podium after having animated the debates, with a superb overtake on Arjun Maini (Trident) at La Rascasse.

Roberto Merhi (MP Motorsport) took fifth place ahead of Maini, Maximilian Günther (Arden) and Nicholas latifi (DAMS).
