Oliver Askew will not have spent long time at Arrow McLaren SP in IndyCar. The 23-year-old rookie, author of a podium for his discovery season in Iowa, will leave the team at the end of the 2020 final scheduled for St-Petersburg (Florida).
“I had to grow very quickly as a driver and I know that I showed my speed and my abilities when the opportunity presented itself, comments the pilot. However, I think it makes sense to write the next chapter of my career outside of this team. »
« We believe that Oliver is extremely talented and has great potential for the future, says Arrow McLaren SP co-owner Sam Schmidt. However, he has had an extremely difficult year, with little driving time and recent medical problems”, reference to his accident at the Indianapolis 500 and his concussions.
The future destination of the 2019 Indy Lights champion is currently unknown.
