The honeymoon continues to go well for Grosjean and the Ricardo Juncos team! The raw results, with a top 10 in three events (and an elimination at the first turn of the Thermal Club exhibition race), may seem low. But the Frenchman's pace in these three races is more than interesting! A new time, Romain Grosjean showed his peak speed in free practice.

Particularly fast on hard tires, Grosjean had difficulty extracting the maximum from his soft tires during the flying lap exercise. Starting eleventh at the end of qualifying, the Frenchman managed to climb back into the top 10. His two-stop strategy was, however, condemned by a neutralization on the 55th lap. The exit of Sting Ray Robb actually forced the drivers on this strategy to stop, and to have to save a lot of fuel until the finish.

First Chevrolet on the two-stop strategy

A situation similar to that of 2023 for Grosjean, who was beaten by Scott McLaughlin, already on a three-stop strategy. Despite everything, the driver with number 77 remains satisfied with his weekend, where he once again showed his peak of speed. With the added bonus of being the best pilot in the alliance McLaren-Juncos, after the wreck of the orange cars!

Romain Grosjean (Juncos Hollinger n°77), twelfth in the Alabama Grand Prix: “A good weekend overall with a very good pace. We qualified a little further than we wanted. We tried to make the two-stop strategy work, but the other strategy was much better. However, I am very happy with the team, they were excellent during the pit stops. We finished first in the Chevrolet camp in the drivers on two stops, so we can be proud of that! We will continue to work hard and come back stronger. It is clear that we have a good package for road circuits! »
