Audi Sport presents its FE07

Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler intends to regain his rank in Formula E, on the occasion of the first season labeled FIA World Championship. For this, the German team led by Allan McNish will be able to count on a new car e-tron FE07, boarding a new MGU05 engine, the first developed entirely in-house.

The previous powertrain was an evolution of that made available by partner Schaeffler, and the move to an in-house creation could play a certain role in Audi's return to the forefront in the discipline.

This motor presents a concept around an internal rotor coupled to external magnets, with a single speed transmission. Thanks to the hard work of Audi engineers on weight savings, the block weighs less than 35 kg.

The powertrain thus provides a general efficiency of 95% when the motor-generator alone offers an efficiency of 97%. An element which will also be offered for the Envision Virgin Racing team, an Audi customer team.

Remember that Lucas di Grassi and René Rast will be the two starting drivers for the 2021 season of the Formula E World Championship.
