Author of a remarkable pole position at Templehof airport in Berlin (Germany), Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Techeetah) could have claimed his first victory of the 2019-20 season.
The Frenchman held the reins of the event until four minutes from the checkered flag, when energy management required him to lower the pace. Maximilian Günther (BMW i Andretti) didn't ask for that much and easily exceeded it.
The German then resisted the return of Robin Frijns (Virgin) to secure his second victory in Formula E after Santiago de Chile. Enough to allow him to move up to second place in the championship!

The championship leader, Antonio Félix Da Costa (DS Techeetah) took another step towards the coronation. The Portuguese added the points for 4th place, which allows him to have a large lead over his direct pursuer. Jean-Éric Vergne limits the damage by finishing on the last step of the podium.
Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes) could have gone to bed with peace of mind as runner-up in the championship, but a puncture a quarter of an hour from the end forced him to retire. A fate shared with James Calado (Jaguar), Sergio Sette Câmara (Dragon) and Neel Jani (Porsche), all three caught in a collision at the hairpin.
The ranking is closed by Felipe Massa (Venturi), found guilty of a collision with Lucas di Grassi (Audi).
The fourth Berlin ePrix will take place on Sunday August 8.
