Bianchi and Grosjean, a great duo

The departure of Jules Bianchi was decisive: just before the neutralization then the stopping of the race caused by the accident on the grid, Clos having stalled causing the elimination of Razia and Varhaug, the driver of the French FFSA Team took off better than Romain Grosjean. Jules still had to defend his position after the second start, launched by the safety car, because his opponent gave him no respite: “It wasn't easy... Romain was really fast at the start. I sometimes locked the wheels by braking hard and each time I saw that he was getting closer. He must have been pushing very hard because he made a few mistakes, which allowed me to make a small gap at the end of the race. I also think his tires were a little less efficient than mine. »

The order of the first row of the grid was therefore reversed, to the great joy of Bianchi: “Yesterday I knew that I had the level of performance for pole but Romain was faster, he qualified better than me . So I was a little disappointed. But today I'm happy because it's my first victory in GP2, also the first since 2009, and we're off to a good start to the season. It's good for everyone on the team. »

For Romain Grosjean, his average start transformed him into a challenger in a few meters: “I don't really know, but I think it was a problem with the clutch. We're going to change it tonight. It's a new car, and everyone is learning the details. Unfortunately it happened to me at the wrong time and I didn't get off to a good start. I knew that by making my pitstop before Jules, I could perhaps pass him like that, because on the track it seemed less possible. But I had a clutch problem again when I left. It's the race. But tomorrow will be a different story and we are working a lot to improve and fight for the title. 2nd is not a bad result for a first race and we are in the process of putting the team back at the top of the rankings. »
