Bird fastest on first day of testing in Valencia

The first day of collective testing of Formula e in view of the 2019-20 season, Tuesday October 15 was an opportunity for the teams to practice with their new mounts. In ideal conditions, Sam Bird (Virgin) was the fastest during the afternoon session.

The Briton recorded a time of 1'15"570, almost a hundredth faster than rookie Maximilian Günther (BMW i Andretti). The latter had achieved this time at the end of the morning.

Transferred to the reigning champion team DS Techeetah, Antonio Félix Da Costa completes the virtual podium in 1'15″681. Frenchman Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Techeetah) is fifth.

Note that the top 10 is held in just over half a second. As for the new teams, Porsche place André Lotterer and Neel Jani at the 14th and 21st rows.

It is still less encouraging for Mercedes, with technical problems for the two single-seaters of Stoffel Vandoorne Nyck de Vries

Finally, the last driver announced for the sixth season of Formula e, Ma Qing Hua (NIO) completes the march four seconds behind the leaders.
