C1: Albon returns to victory

George Russell (ART GP) starts from pole position and resists the flying start. The first part of the race was marked by the overtaking of Arjun Maini (Trident) over Artem Markelov (Russian Time) and Lando Norris (Pug).

The first pit stops were decisive as George Russell lost the lead of the race after a gun problem and Lando Norris started last after stalling. This offers Alexander albon (DAMS) the lead among the pilots having already stopped.

The race continues to get lively with two virtual safety cars to recover the cars of Nirei Fukuzumi (Arden), then of Sérgio Sette Câmara (Carlin) after an engine problem.

Albon, for his part, moves calmly towards a promised victory since Russell receives a 5-second penalty for having been too fast in the pit lane. This therefore gives the Thai a second victory this season ahead of Russell who considerably increases his lead in the championship. Antonio Fuoco (Charouz Racing), although he complained at the start of the race of engine power problems, completed the podium.

An intense battle in the final laps took place between three drivers to award 4e place which ultimately went to Louis Delétraz (Charouz Racing) who overtook Luca Ghiotto (Campos Racing) on the last lap just in front of the nose of Artem Markelov (Russian Time).

Nyck de Vries (Prema Racing) ranks 7e of the race. Although it passes line 8e, Jack Aitken (ART GP) is ranked 13e after two 5-second penalties, propelling Maximilian Günther (Arden) to provisional pole. Ralph Boschung (MP Motorsport) and Lando Norris complete the points zone.
