C1 – Sette Câmara winner in style in Abu Dhabi

Sérgio Sette Câmara (Dams) seems to be having a perfect weekend in Abu Dhabi. The Brazilian, not content with taking pole position on Friday, won with authority the Long Race on the Yas Marina circuit on Saturday November 30.

The current test and development pilot of McLaren collects his second victory in the promotion discipline. This success was achieved despite a difficult start. Third after the first lap, this Ayrton Senna fan then got rid of Callum Ilott (Charouz) and Louis Delétraz (Carlin) after the legal pit stop.

Nobuharu Matsushita (Carlin) finished second. Guanyu-Zhou (UNI-Virtuosi) finished third thanks to an overtaking a short distance from the end on Louis Delétraz (Carlin), then in trouble with his tires.

The symbolic issue of this final in the Middle East concerns the position of vice-championNicholas latifi (Dams, future pilot Williams en F1 in 2020 and only 7th) is only two points ahead of Sérgio Sette Câmara and 10 over Luca Ghiotto (UNI-Virtuosi, 6th).

Title, Nyck de Vries (ART Grand Prix) settled for fifth place. Giuliano Alesi (Trident) collects the points from eighth position, ahead of the rookie Mick Schumacher (Prema). It means that the Frenchman will have the chance to start from pole position Sunday in Sprint Race via the reverse grid (start at 10:30 a.m.)
