Callum Ilott will start on pole on Saturday

Second last week in qualifying, Callum Ilott signed his second pole position of the season after the one won in Hungary three weeks ago. The Briton stole pole position from Christian Lundgaard (ART Grand Prix / +0”1), who held the best mark almost until the end. With the third best time of the session, Jack Aitken (Campos / +0 "2) will start on the second row for the first time in the current main season.

The French team DAMS had made qualifying its main project for this new weekend at Silverstone. She visibly made a leap forward with the beautiful 4th place of Daniel Ticktum (DAMS). The Briton beat Luca Ghiotto (Hitech), which proves once again that the new English team Hitech has acclimatized well to the F2, since Nikita mazepin also finished 7th.

Championship leader Robert Shwartzman suffered again on a fast lap, with only the 11th fastest time of the day, while his teammate Mick Schumacher finished 8th. Marcus Armstrong, the Russian's runner-up in F3 last season, continues to experience great difficulties for two weekends. With her car prepared by ART Grand Prix, he only achieved the 19th time of the day, just ahead of the Frenchman Giuliano Alesi (HWA Racelab)
