Castroneves awaits the 500 Miles

After weeks of waiting, the pilots ofIndycar will be able to battle it out at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. For fifteen days, Helio Castroneves must be boiling with impatience. The one who won the event twice (2001 and 2002) will start on pole, for the third time. Winner of pole day ahead of his teammate Ryan Briscoe, the Brazilian intends to prove that he is the best on the track. Castroneves is also seeking to make a name for himself again for his talents as a pilot, after a turbulent winter which saw him acquitted in a tax evasion case.

Now focused on the track, Castroneves has the opportunity to achieve a third success, something that has not happened since Rick Mears (1991). But the Brazilian will have to be careful, he who never imposed himself when he started from first place (2003, 2007). Dario Franchitti (3rd) and Scott Dixon (5th), the last two winners of the event, will be the Brazilian's biggest rivals. The French Nelson Philippe, who will start in 32nd place, will also want to live up to the event, being the only Frenchman on the Indiana ring. But there is no doubt that the 33 drivers will be keen to do well in this event, which is one of the greatest moments in American motorsport. And that they are impatiently awaiting the famous “Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines”.
