Passed by the FIA F3 this year, and recently lined up for the Macau Grand Prix with ART Grand Prix, the Dane Christian Lundgaard will be lined up for the FIA final F2 (November 30 – December 1), within the Trident stable.
The Italian team mainly fielded Giuliano Alesi and Ralph Boschung this season, and the protégé of Renault Sport Academy will replace the Swiss for this last event of 2019, with no stake in the Drivers' championship since Nyck de Vries has already secured the crown.
“Getting to a championship in the final round will be a big challenge, but it will be a great experience, indicates the former 2018 Formula Renault Eurocup vice-champion.
F2 is a big step up, the race is always hotly contested and you need to think strategically to get the most out of the races. I can't wait to get started and see what we can do. »
After an FIA F3 campaign finished in sixth place with a main race victory in Hungary, Lundgaard could well be a serious candidate for an entry into FIA F2 in 2020.
