Correa has 'more questions than answers' after Spa crash

Juan Manuel Correa continues his convalescence after being seriously injured during a pileup in Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) on August 31, an accident which cost the life of Anthoine Hubert.

The 20-year-old American of Ecuadorian origin read carefully the accident investigation report and was not satisfied by the responses provided by the FIA.

“The FIA safety department spent more than 5 months investigating, but for me their findings provide more questions than answers. Furthermore, I am surprised not to have had access to the full accident report which could have given me a better understanding of the conclusions made by the FIA”, he said on Facebook.

Juan Manuel Correa said he would do his best to obtain the full report.

“On August 31, 2019, my friend and adversary lost his life, a family lost a loved one, and I suffered serious injuries. You can't change the past, but maybe all this pain can make sense if it makes the sport safer. I will therefore continue to try to obtain a copy of the full accident report…”, he added.

After being in a coma, Juan Manuel Correa was able to perform his first steps last October but his convalescence will still be long.
