At the end of a very lively and rhythmic race, António Félix da Costa (DS Techeetah) won his first victory of the season.
The Portuguese built this success on his own and especially sought it in the final moments of the Monegasque event.
Surprised by Mitch Evans (Jaguar) on the climb to the Casino less than ten minutes from time, António Félix da Costa played the patience card before going on the offensive. A winning bet since the Lusitanian managed a very good restart after the last intervention of the safety car.
“ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS”
You're not supposed to be able to overtake like that at Monaco for the lead, @mitchevans_ !#MonacoEPrice https://t.co/3hxrnMERTJ @JaguarRacing pic.twitter.com/msBDIVlUaX

Glued to the New Zealander at the start of the final lap of the race, the reigning champion waited until the exit of the Tunnel to carry out a lethal attack and take control. He only had to hold on to the final turns to claim his first victory of the year.

Lacking energy at the end of the race, Mitch Evans even lost his 2nd place to the detriment of Robin Frijns (Virgin). The Kiwi finally crossed the line in 3rd position.
Forced to use a final Attack Mode after having missed his last pass through this section, Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Techeetah), falling to 8th, achieved an exceptional end of the race overtaking Nick Cassidy (Virgin), Sam Bird ( Jaguar), Oliver Rowland (Nissan e-Dams) and Maximilian Günther (BMW). The Frenchman finally finished just off the podium.
At bay in qualifying, Mercedes hardly improved his situation in the race, on the contrary. The German team leaves Monaco with a double retirement of its drivers, Stoffel Vandoorne and Nick de Vries.
In the championship, Robin Frijns is the new leader after Nyck de Vries' zero points for the second consecutive race. With 62 points, the Dutchman is 5 points ahead of his compatriot and 8 ahead of Mitch Evans. Winner of the day, António Félix da Costa is 4th, 10 lengths from the lead.
