Dams, Renault F1 junior team

Genii Capital, company acquired in the capital of Renault F1 Team, puts its organization in place little by little. After recruiting Vitaly Petrov as second Renault driver, Gérard Lopez, boss of Genii Capital, and Eric Boullier, team manager of Renault F1, appointed Ho-Pin Tung and Jérôme d?Ambrosio respectively third driver and reserve driver of the Losange team.

The Chinese and the Belgian, whose contracts are managed by Gravity Management, a subsidiary of Genii Capital, will also be teammates this season in the GP2 Series at Dams, a team of which Eric Boullier was general manager until 2009. DAMS even becomes Junior Team of Renault , since it becomes a partner of the Renault F1 Driver Program and will decorate its single-seaters in the Renault F1 Team colors.

Jean-Paul Driot, boss of Dams, welcomes this partnership. “ I am very proud that Dams is lining up under the legendary colors of Renault F1. Jérôme d?Ambrosio, Renault F1 reserve driver and starter at Dams for a third season in GP2, is also happy with this choice. “ After two seasons of GP2 Series, I feel ready to aim for the title this year. This will be my goal. I know the team and its working methods perfectly, I have also familiarized myself with the circuits that we will take this season. Driving a yellow and black car, moreover, will be something special and it will be close to my heart to defend these colors with dignity. » 


For his part, Ho-Pin Tung hopes to live up to the opportunity offered to him via the partnership between Dams and Renault F1, via Genii Capital. “ I am very happy to make my return to a discipline whose level of demands no longer needs to be demonstrated.
