DAMS finishes in style

Luiz Razia wins the last race of the season in the GP2 Asia Series in Bahrain. This race was marked by another spectacular comeback from Jérôme d'Ambrosio. Starting 6th, the DAMS driver came back to 2nd place. Davide Riggon completes the podium.

DAMS ended its 2-2008 GP09 Asia campaign in the best possible way: with a podium. Starting from 6th position on the grid, Jérôme d?Ambrosio once again made a spectacular comeback to finally take second place.

By scoring 6 points this morning, Jérôme d?Ambrosio has taken second place in the drivers' standings. For DAMS, it is therefore a solid success: double in the drivers' championship and teams' title! The Belgian can only be satisfied with the work accomplished. “I approached the weekend very aggressively, highly motivated and my approach paid off. Best qualifying time, two podiums, two fastest laps in the race: it would have been difficult to do better and I am delighted with what I was able to demonstrate in Bahrain. The goal now is to continue my momentum and play leading roles in the GP2 Series. »

Next meeting, the curtain raiser for the 2009 GP2 Series championship, in Barcelona, in two weeks.
