De Vries leads Barcelona test

Nyck de Vries (ART GP) monopolized first place on the timesheet during the first day of testing F2 on the Catalunya circuit in Barcelona (Spain). With a best time of 1'28''655, the former Formula champion Renault Eurocup was ahead of Sergio Dette Camara (Dams) by more than a tenth, while Nikita mazepin (ART GP) completed the top three in front Mick Schumacher (Prema Racing).

Testing was disrupted by Mahaveer Raghunathan (MP Motorsport) stopping on track in the first minutes of the session. Roberto Merhi (Campos Racing) caused an interruption of the session by stopping at turn 2 in the afternoon. Mahaveer Raghunathan stopped again just before the end of the session.

Giuliano Alesi (Trident) set the 8th fastest time of the morning and the 14th of the afternoon. His compatriot Anthoine Hubert (BWT Arden) ranked 12th in both sessions.
