Di Grassi victorious in Berlin, effective comeback from Vergne

Lucas di Grassi (Audi) taught his competitors a lesson in Formula e. The 2017 champion of the discipline won his tenth victory in Fe, the first on the Tempelhof airport circuit in Berlin (Germany) this Saturday, May 25.

The Brazilian, qualified in third place, easily overtook Stoffel Vandoorne (HWA Racelab) then Sébastien Buemi (Nissan e.dams) during the first laps, then was never worried. The polite Swiss wanted to rediscover the taste of success after two years of scarcity, he will have to come back. Sébastien Buemi indeed finished second.

The third step on the podium is held by Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Techeetah). The defending champion made the most spectacular comeback in the peloton after a difficult qualification (eighth). The Frenchman maintains his advantage in the overall Drivers' standings, but his lead is reduced: he is now only six points ahead of Lucas di Grassi.

In a rather calm race, only a neutralization was necessary to clear the broken down Jaguar of Alexander Lynn. The second Frenchman entered, Tom Dillmann (NIO), finished outside the points. Note the poor performance of Gary Paffett (HWA Racelab), present in the Super Pole but who was eaten up by numerous opponents in the race.

Despite the support of his public, André Lotterer (DS Techeetah) is the big loser of this event. The second in the general classification before the Berlin ePrix retired with six minutes to go. Too bad, because the German, in the running to score a few points, had pulled away to make a comeback from the last row.
